Traditionally, fast food chains and employees hate when you try to “hack” the menu—just ask any Starbucks barista how they feel about those “secret menu” drinks. However, because Chick-fil-A’s mission is to keep customers “at the heart of [its] work,” it really does seem like it’s “their pleasure” to ensure you get just what you want at the chicken chain.
Maybe Chick-fil-A’s eagerness to allow its customers to customize practically every menu item is why it feels like a new order goes viral almost every week. As a Chick-fil-A fan, though, I am certainly not complaining.
After I tried the high-protein Chick-fil-A order, which features the Kale Crunch Salad topped with chicken tenders coated in hot sauce and honey, my TikTok “For You” page was immediately flooded with even more viral Chick-fil-A hacks. The one I saw the most, however, was a resurfaced hack that got quite the upgrade this time around.
The current Chick-fil-A order on everyone’s mind features a classic Chicken Sandwich, Creamy Salsa Dressing, and Crispy Red Bell Peppers.
Chick-fil-A's Viral Creamy Salsa Chicken Sandwich
In 2023, an easy menu hack took off on TikTok. The “hack” simply included a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich and a packet of Creamy Salsa Dressing. You’d take the chicken off the sandwich, put it back in the sandwich bag, add the dressing to the bag, shake it up until the filet was coated, and then add the chicken back to your sandwich.
Social media users raved about the order, but then, earlier this year, the hack came back with a new twist. After you add the sauced-up chicken back to the sandwich, you top it with Chick-fil-A’s Crispy Red Bell Peppers, which it serves on its Cobb Salad.
The chain’s Creamy Salsa Dressing, which is traditionally used on the Spicy Southwest Salad, has gotten quite a bit of recognition over the past few years, making its way into another viral menu hack: the “best” Chick-fil-A breakfast burrito. However, the Crispy Red Bell Peppers have become the winner of this new viral sandwich, offering an extra crunch to the saucy chicken.
I tried the Creamy Salsa Chicken Sandwich, and here is my honest review.
My Honest Review of Chick-fil-A's Viral Creamy Salsa Chicken Sandwich
When I first saw the hack, I agreed with user @eatingwithshay because, seriously, how many ways can we modify fast food? However, after trying it, I’m on board with TikTok user @chefitupwithlani, this hack is “100 percent worth the hype.”
Compared to the salad hack, which required quite a bit of construction, this sandwich order is a bit simpler. It also solidifies what I learned when making the chicken tenders for the high protein salad: We should all be saucing the Chick-fil-A chicken before eating it. Forget about dipping it or squeezing the sauce on top, adding the filet to the bag and shaking it around in the dressing ensures that every bite will have saucy goodness.
I was introduced to the Creamy Salsa Dressing a few years ago when I tried the breakfast burrito and I really enjoyed it. It has a nice Southwestern flavor with a tiny hint of spice and a great creamy consistency.
Adding the salsa dressing to the chicken already gives a Southwestern flair to the sandwich, but topping it with the crunchy charred tomato and red bell pepper pieces takes it up a notch. It adds even more spice, plus a hint of smokiness and crunchiness that I really enjoyed.
I would love to try this hack using Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich for an added kick, but overall, I thought it was a great new flavor for the classic sandwich. It’s definitely a must-try—and one I’ll be enjoying again.
