Churro-inspired desserts are having a moment this past year, from churro-flavored Oreos and Blue Bunny soft serve to Churro Delicioso Jell-O and Dunkin’ menu items. Now, Aldi has joined the party with its Sundae Shoppe Cinnamon Churro Ice Cream Sandwiches.
The frozen desserts are made with two soft cinnamon churro cookies with salted caramel ice cream sandwiched in between. A box is priced at $4.99 and comes with four sandwiches.
An Aldi shopper recently posted a photo of the ice cream sandwiches on Reddit, with fans quickly jumping into the comments section. “Just had one 10 minutes ago. I am fighting the urge to have another,” one fan admitted. “Had one earlier today. I am in love with these,” another said. “I’d eat the entire box at once,” a third declared.
The Aldi fan account @aldiallthetime also featured the dessert in an Instagram reel about weekly Aldi Finds. “The churro ice cream sandwiches are awesome! Just ate two,” one person commented.
Some fans on social media have said the churro cookies taste just like snickerdoodles. One Reddit commenter wrote that the ice cream sandwiches reminded them of a “nice bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch with extra-cold milk.”
