There’s no way you have forgotten about one of Taco Bell’s biggest menu announcements at Live Más Live in March: the Quesocrisp Taco. I know I haven’t stopped thinking about the new taco—made with a 100 percent cheese shell and stuffed with chicken, lettuce, tomato, and cheese—since I tried it.
While we did see our first Live Más Live launch in the Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas at the end of March, Taco Bell has been radio silent about the cheesy, crunchy taco. But, now, the fast food chain is testing a new taco that makes us think the Quesocrisp Taco is coming sooner than we think—and the new menu item looks like a discontinued fan-favorite.
Taco Bell gets a lot of requests to bring back retired menu items. However, one of its most popular requests is for the Double Decker Taco, which features a soft shell tortilla and a layer of refried beans wrapped around a Crunchy Taco, to get a second life. The chain brought the ’90s fan-favorite back in late 2024 after it won a fan vote, but only for a limited time.
Now, Taco Bell is teasing fans with its new menu test: a triple-decker taco.
Taco Bell Is Testing a Crispy Cheese Triple Stacked Taco
Taco Bell is currently testing a Crispy Cheese Triple Stacked Taco at restaurants. The ultra-packed taco starts with a classic Crunchy Taco, made with beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and spicy ranch, that’s wrapped in a flour tortilla, which is encased with a melty blend of mozzarella, pepperjack, and Cheddar cheeses, all finished with a crunchy layer of outer shell made 100 percent with crispy cheese.

Not only does the crispy, cheese shell mean Taco Bell is gearing up to mass produce its Quesocrisp Taco, but also, the chain says the new Crispy Cheese Triple Stacked Taco is being sold as the "Quesocrisp Triple Stacked Taco" at some restaurants. Now that can’t be a coincidence.
As with all of Taco Bell’s menu tests—like its Crispy Chicken Bacon Club Burrito and Crispalupa—the Crispy Cheese Triple Stacked Taco is only available in one market location. This menu item is being tested at restaurants in Sacramento, California, before Taco Bell decides if it wants to bring the crispy, gooey, stacked taco to menus nationwide.
For those in Sacramento, you can check the Taco Bell app to see if your local restaurant is participating in the test, where the taco will be sold between $3.99 and $4.99. As for the rest of us, we just have to hang tight to see if the triple-decker taco makes it to menus—or, at the very least, Taco Bell announces the Quesocrisp Taco’s availability.
