Key Takeaways

  • Skippy has launched two new Peanut Butter Wafer Bar flavors that fans didn't expect.
  • The updated bars now include a layer of real fruit pieces, crunchy granola, and six grams of protein.

While some old-school peanut butter brands are happy sticking to the classics, Skippy is always out here pushing the boundaries of peanut butter—and we’re not mad about it. In recent years, the brand has leaned hard into the chocolate-peanut butter combo, releasing inventive treats like the Skippy PB Bar and Girl Scout Cookie-inspired Chocolate P.B. Bites. Just last month, it even dropped an Easter candy that looked nearly identical to a certain iconic Reese’s shape.

But Skippy’s latest launch ventures beyond chocolate, introducing two new flavors that bring something totally different to the peanut butter game—including one you rarely ever spot in the snack aisle.

Skippy Launches 2 New Peanut Butter Wafer Bars

Back in 2023, Skippy teamed up with Signature Wafer & Chocolate Co. to launch its first line of Peanut Butter Wafer Bars—a creamy, crunchy layered snack that debuted in three nostalgic flavors: Natural Peanut Butter Spread and Chocolate Fudge, Creamy Peanut Butter and Chocolate Fudge, and Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly.

The bars quickly became hits, offering the kind of layered crunch and peanut butter-chocolate combo that reminded people of their favorite Little Debbie treat. They even hit Costco shelves for a limited time.

Now, two years later, the peanut butter wafer line-up is getting even sweeter. Skippy is introducing two brand-new flavors: Strawberry Jelly and Banana.

“Shut the front door! Banana?!” one fan exclaimed on social media. Yep, banana. And while banana-flavored snacks can be hit or miss, fans are hopeful. “Not many banana snacks out there, and most of them are mid or worse. Please be gooooood!” another commenter wrote.

Meanwhile, others are already sold. “The banana ones sound absolutely amazing,” one fan raved “Can’t wait! The grape are fantastic,” added another.

And it’s not just new flavors—Skippy has also upgraded the bars themselves. Each one now includes a layer of real fruit pieces and crunchy granola on top. They also deliver six grams of protein per bar, which is right on trend with the current high-protein snack craze.

Bonus: even the original Creamy Peanut Butter and Chocolate Fudge bar got a glow-up, now topped with granola and mini chocolate chips. All three new snack bars are available on Walmart shelves now.

So, if your peanut butter cravings are calling for something more exciting than a spoonful right out of the jar (no shame in that), Skippy’s new snacks might just hit the sweet-and-salty spot.
