Nothing says summer quite like campfire cooking. From wood-smoked potatoes to gooey s’mores, nothing beats being able to enjoy the delicious charred bits of a fire-cooked meal under the stars on a warm evening.
That said, not all of us can take off and enjoy a slow weekend of babysitting a pan over an open fire. That’s where brands like Cracker Barrel come in. The Tennessee-based chain, famous for its Chicken n’ Dumplins’, once offered a campfire-inspired menu. It proved so popular that one fan remembers, “people getting upset when the kitchen would run out of the campfire meals.” Now, after disappearing from stores for seven long years, the fan-favorite menu is back—and it includes three brand-new offerings.
Cracker Barrel Brings Back Its Campfire Meals
Cracker Barrel just reintroduced its popular Campfire Meals, featuring an assortment of dishes served in a cast iron skillet or wrapped in foil to deliver big campfire flavors. The menu sees the return of two Campfire Meal favorites, along with three new items.
Here's a look at the five featured meals:
- Campfire Chicken: This marinated half-chicken is a returning item and is flavored with the brand’s signature Campfire Seasoning and slow-cooked in a butter broth with corn, potatoes, grape tomatoes, and onions.
- Campfire Beef: Also making a comeback is this slow-braised beef with Campfire Seasoning and veggies wrapped in foil to lock in all the delicious smoky flavors.
- Campfire Shrimp Skillet: This new menu item features grilled shrimp and andouille sausage, cooked in a butter broth with corn and potatoes.
- S’mores Brownie Skillet: Another new offering, this campfire-inspired dessert comes with a chocolate brownie topped with roasted marshmallow and a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar. It’s served over crumbled graham crackers and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Cinnamon Roll Skillet: The idea behind this new item comes from Cracker Barrel’s popular cinnamon roll pie. It consists of mini cinnamon rolls with a gooey cinnamon filling and tangy cream cheese icing.
All three savory menu options are served with buttermilk biscuits and cornbread muffins.
"Starting at just $10.99, our Campfire Meals are so packed with flavor, they will immediately spark feelings of long summer days, endless possibilities, and that unmistakable joy we feel when anything is possible," said Sarah Moore, chief marketing officer at Cracker Barrel.
Say no more, we’re on board—and we’re not alone. Fans have already flocked to social media to share their excitement, saying, “OH MY GOD!! I’m loving this. This is fantastic…The baked chicken is fantastic…The meat just falls off the bones and [is] cooked to perfection. You will want more after you try these meals. That’s for sure.”
Another person shared, “I've literally been checking for this every summer for the past 6 years," while another fan just simply wrote, "mouthwatering."
If you’ve also been waiting for Cracker Barrel’s Campfire Menu, now is the time to enjoy it. The menu is now available at participating restaurants nationwide for a limited time. So, if you don't want to wait another seven years for these summer-soaked meals, you know the drill—head on over to your closest Cracker Barrel before they disappear.
