Sabrina Sierant, senior director at US Chips Ahoy, says the new flavor was inspired by the popularity of how some fans were choosing to enjoy its cookies: “We’re always looking for ways to treat our fans to new experiences, especially when it ties into something we know many of them are already doing,” Sierant explained. “Over the years, we’ve seen consumers buying ice cream and Chips Ahoy! cookies together to make ice cream sandwiches in the spring and summer months, so we thought, why not make a cookie that recreates that iconic summer experience anytime, anywhere.”
The limited-edition cookies are already rolling out to major grocery retailers nationwide, like Walmart and Family Dollar. According to one fan who’s already tried the cookies, “Absolutely YESS!! These should be year-round, so delicious.”
