Frito-Lay has issued a recall on select bags of its Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips because the product may contain nacho cheese tortilla chips, and thus pose an allergen risk for those with milk allergies or sensitivities. The recalled Tostitos packages don’t contain the U.S. Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) required allergen warning, so have been recalled for mislabeling.
How to Identify the Recalled Tostitos Chips

The recall impacts less than 1,300 bags that were sold across 13 states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Frito-Lay is recalling its 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips with the UPC 2840052848 and “Guaranteed Fresh” date of May 20, 2025. You’ll know if you have the recalled chips if your bag contains that information, plus one of the following manufacturing codes.
- 471106504 18 13:XX (where XX is any number from 30 to 55)
- 471106505 85 13:XX (where XX is any number from 30 to 55)
- 471106506 85 13:XX (where XX is any number from 30 to 55)
- 471106507 85 13:XX (where XX is any number from 30 to 55)
The recalled Tostitos were sold at grocery, convenience, and drug stores, as well as online, as early as March 7, 2025. At this time, no other Tostitos products, flavors, or sizes have been recalled.
What to Do if You Have the Recalled Products
If you have the recalled Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips and have a milk allergy or sensitivity, you should not consume them. While no allergic reactions have been reported, the chips may contain milk, and consuming them could cause a serious or deadly reaction for those with milk allergies or sensitivities. Instead, you should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement.
If you do not have a milk allergy or sensitivity, you don’t need to do anything. The chips have been recalled because the bag may contain nacho cheese tortilla chips, which have different allergens and labeling requirements. Therefore, the chips are not inherently unsafe to eat. However, if you do have a bag with nacho cheese tortilla chips, and you’d rather have the real Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips, you are still eligible to return the bag for a refund or replacement.
Customers with questions about the recall can contact Frito-Lay via its “Contact Us” page or via phone at 1-800-352-4477.
