But what could possibly be better than a sprinkle-filled vanilla cake that’s been a party staple for decades? One that takes the fun-fetti to the next level.
Pillsbury Funfetti Lanches a Brand-New Celebrations Cake Kit
Pillsbury has officially unveiled the Funfetti Celebrations Cake Kit, a brand-new baking mix that’s about to make every birthday, holiday, and cake-eating occasion feel even more festive. This isn’t just a remix of the fan-favorite Funfetti cake—it’s a full-on glow-up.
If you’ve ever wished your Funfetti cake had even more sprinkles, Pillsbury heard you loud and clear. Unlike the original Funfetti mix—which features colorful candy bits baked inside—this new mix includes a separate stash of sprinkles meant for decorating the outside. That means your cake won’t just be speckled with fun; it’ll be completely decked out in a vibrant, crunchy layer of decorations.
And, these sprinkles aren’t just you’re average jimmies. Pillsbury is going all out with a mix of different shapes and textures, including yellow stars, white pearls, rainbow slims, and orange sequins, bringing you a bold design that follows some of the biggest (and most Instagrammable) cake trends right now.
Each 19.4-ounce package of Funfetti Celebrations includes the classic vanilla cake mix loaded with colorful candy bits, as well as “enough decorative sprinkles to cover an entire Funfetti cake,” according to the brand description.
One thing to note: The kit does not include frosting, so you’ll need to grab a tub of Pillsbury frosting from the baking aisle or whip up your own homemade version. Some fans have even suggested topping it with the new Peeps frosting for an extra festive touch (and we fully support that idea).
It’s safe to say that Funfetti fans are feeling nostalgic and excited in equal measure. One commenter summed it up best: “I would have loved this as a kid…but grown me—wait, what am I talking about? When is it coming out?”
While the Funfetti Celebrations Cake Kit has popped up on Pillsbury’s website, it’s not available for purchase just yet. However, the brand recently teased on Instagram that “something FUN is coming soon,” pointing to March 12 as the official launch date. That means you can expect to see this mix hitting shelves at major retailers just in time for spring birthdays, Easter gatherings, and any other excuse to bake up something colorful.
