In the wake of Valentine’s Day, some of us may feel as though we need a break from all the chocolates we collected in February. For candy brands, it’s a different story. Now that all the heart-shaped treats have moved on to the discount shelf, chocolate eggs, bunnies, and carrots are springing up in their place.
It’s true, Easter is still more than a month out, but already we’ve seen brands bring back seasonal favorites and introduce brand-new treats like Kit Kat’s wafer bunnies and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with Spring Sprinkles. Speaking of Reese’s, there’s a new chocolate peanut butter bunny in stores—and no, it’s not from the brand that gave us the iconic peanut butter cup.
Skippy's New PB Bunny Candy
Walmart / Allrecipes
Skippy might not be the first brand that comes to mind when you think of candy, but it’s a household name when it comes to peanut butter. And now, the school lunch sweetheart just released a milk chocolate bunny packed with the rich and creamy peanut butter we all know and love. While Skippy has put out products like peanut butter cookie bites, wafer bars, and even chocolate peanut butter squares, these adorable bunnies are a first-of-their-kind for the brand.
A shopper who recently spotted the new candy at Walmart noted that while the Skippy PB Bunny contains less peanut butter than the Reese’s version, the overall “quality of the pb is better in these.” Since Skippy is a favorite among some chefs, it’s no wonder some shoppers find the filling in these treats more satisfying.
The Skippy PB Bunny comes in a pack of three for $2 and appear to be a Walmart exclusive. So, if you're hoping to grab these for a quick snack or to fill Easter baskets, you'll need to head over to Walmart or order them from its website.
Sure, Reese's might've given us the first-ever chocolate peanut butter bunny, but who's to say Skippy can't hop into the candy game, too?
