In the fast food world right now, nothing is trendier than the meal deal. With customers looking for great value, fast food chains are going back to what set them apart from restaurants in the beginning: quick service, good food, and most importantly, unbeatable prices.

While many chains are releasing limited-time meal deals or value menus, Wendy’s has never strayed away from one of its founder, Dave Thomas’ core values: selling food at a “fair price.” That’s why it offers the “444” Meal and Biggie Bag deals as part of its permanent menu.

The 444 Meal consists of a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, 4-piece chicken nuggets, small fry, and small drink for just $4. The Biggie Bag, which originally joined menus in 2019, is a bit heftier with a full-sized sandwich, 4-piece chicken nuggets, small fry, and small drink for either $5 or $6, depending on the sandwich. The Double Stack, Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, and Crispy Chicken Biggie Bags cost $5, while the Crispy Chicken BLT and Bacon Double Stack Biggie Bags both cost $6.

No matter which Biggie Bag you purchase, the meal will still be cheaper than Wendy’s cheapest sandwich combo—plus, you get our favorite fast food chicken nuggets. However, recently, a Wendy’s employee explained there’s an even better way to get more bang for your Biggie Bag buck.

How To Save Even More Money on a Wendy's Biggie Bag

“Y’all [are] wasting…money at Wendy’s buying [the] large combos,” TikTok user and Wendy’s employee @secretlystacked said in a video. “You can get a $5 Biggie Bag and upgrade it to a large for 80 cents [or] 30 cents for a medium upgrade”

So, if you always thought the Biggie Bag sounded like a great deal, but maybe with not enough fries or soda to satisfy you, this trick might change your mind.

“I don’t think y’all realize that a large fry is almost $4 and a large drink is almost $4, so you’re pretty much paying 80 cents for $8 worth of upgrades,” @secretlystacked says in the video, which has amassed more than 8.5 million views.

Of course, the upgrade surcharge might differ depending on your Wendy’s location—we tried the trick in our Wendy’s app for a New York City restaurant. We added a Dave’s Combo and upgraded the fries and drink to a large, which rang in at $13.09. Then, we added the Double Stack Biggie Bag, which originally costs $6 in NYC, and upgraded the fries and drink to a large. The total for the Biggie Bag came to $8.10. So, not an 80-cent upgrade fee, but still $5 cheaper than the Dave’s Combo—and the Biggie Bag includes nuggets.

The video has thousands of comments, with users saying they thought it was “an actual Wendy’s commercial” and praising @secretlystacked for making the hack “common knowledge.”

“As a former Wendy’s worker, yes ma’am people really don’t be doing this,” one user wrote.

Even the official Wendy’s account chimed in.

“How did I not know this I am so bad at math,” the brand jokingly commented.

Somehow, the Biggie Bag deal just got even better!
