Duncan Hines is no stranger to releasing some pretty sweet new products, especially in collaboration with different people and brands. From its iconic Dolly Parton baking mixes that feature some of her favorite Southern desserts to a Swiss Miss hot coca-themed cake mix and frosting, the brand continues to surprise us with its innovative releases.
And its recent collaboration with Peeps just might be its sweetest baking mix yet.
Duncan Hines Introduces Peeps Cake Mix, Frosting, and Cupcake Kit
For me—and I’m confident many others—Peeps is synonymous with spring. Especially during Easter, I like to indulge in the iconic marshmallow candy until my stomach hurts and my tongue is dyed yellow (or whatever Peeps’ color I grabbed off the store shelf). So, when I stumbled upon this Peeps and Duncan Hines collaboration, my heart jumped for joy.
The Ducan Hines release includes three products, all featuring the Peeps’ signature yellow hue: a cake mix, frosting, and cupcake kit. From the looks of the packaging, both the simple, moist box cake mix and the cupcake kit appear to pair perfectly with the frosting, labeled as Sunny Yellow Vanilla.
For extra cuteness, the cupcake kit includes pastel Peeps-shaped sprinkles for decorating. Each kit makes 12 cupcakes, and also comes with a yellow cake mix and white vanilla frosting.
“Even if you hate them, there’s no denying how fun and cute these are,” commented one fan, in response to a post by @markie_devo about the products. Frankly, I can’t help but agree.
The mixes have been spotted exclusively online at Walmart. I personally can’t wait to snag the cupcake kit to ring in spring early—I might even grab two, but don’t say a peep.
