The opportunity is based in AECOM’s Dublin office, the team has an established track record of successfully delivering development infrastructure schemes both locally and across Ireland and the U.K. Our wide range of clients includes developers, retailers, landowners, housebuilders, blue-chip companies, and Universities. AECOM’s Development Infrastructure team in Ireland has consistently expanded in recent years. Our current portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix of local and national development and civil infrastructure projects. providing our staff with a variety of exciting projects to deliver. The team offer a complete civil engineering design for Development Infrastructure projects from inception to completion, and regularly carry out such tasks as:

• Site Feasibility and Due Diligence

• Strategic infrastructure master planning for developers, local authorities, and government agencies on key strategic development schemes

• Earthwork’s assessments and modelling

• Road design – adoptable and private

• Pavement design

• Utilities design

• Drainage design

• Design coordination

• Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) design

• Delivery management

• Flood Risk management

• External works design

• Key client contact and PM for all AECOM services

Job Responsibilities

• Leads the design for the road layout, drainage, and water supply networks for a variety of development planning scheme.

• Works on a number of projects at one time.

• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

• Identifies discrepancies in results.

• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

• Strong technical knowledge and engineering skills.

• Experience in using relevant industry-standard software including Microdrainage, AutoCAD (2D) and Auto Track.

• Experience in surface water catchment assessment and analysis, hydrology/flood risk assessments.

• Experience in undertaking the hydraulic analysis and design for surface water and foul sewer drainage systems for development projects (all stages).

• Experience in designing water supply networks for development projects (all stages).

• Experience in overseeing the development of detail designs and the production of documentation including design drawings (where applicable 3D applications) and reports.

• Capable of producing quality design outputs.

• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary design team, and capable of effectively liaising with architects, planning consultants, and external consultants.

• Experienced in undertaking site inspections, test witnessing and reporting on same, and answering technical RFIs during construction.

• Experience in the supervision of Junior Engineers and Technicians.

• Knowledge of relevant design guidelines such as DMURS and TII in developing new road, cycle tracks and footpath designs.

• A solid track record of having worked on a variety of development infrastructure projects.

• Clean driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in using relevant industry-standard software including InfoDrainage and Civil3D.

• Chartered Engineer or nearing chartered status.

• Project Management Skills.

• Fee proposal and bid submission preparation.
