We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Post-Doctoral Scientist- Fixed Duration Employment – Genetic Medicine Are you looking to make a significant difference by establishing design principles for targeted nanomedicines?We are seeking an ambitious postdoctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to high visibility research on emerging nucleic acid delivery approaches. The Genetic Medicine team is an innovation-focused group working to identify, develop and apply cutting-edge technologies to deliver maximum benefit to our patients. Our agile and diverse team strives to operate as an autonomous ‘biotech-like’ company within the walls of Lilly. Your work will contribute to the development of targeted nanomedicines for delivery to the central and peripheral nervous system. In this role, you will:Drive innovation in nucleic acid drug delivery platforms, especially as related to central and peripheral nervous system delivery.Systematically test the parameter space for a promising class of targeted nanoparticle to identify key principles for its design / optimization.Work closely with:A co-advisor in Biotechnology Discovery Research to advance targeting ligand considerations and selection.A co-advisor in Genetic Medicine’s head of Computational Sciences to computationally derive salient parameters for a targeted nanomedicine’s binding affinity.Colleagues in the Next Generation Neuroscience Therapeutics department to inform in vitro and in vivo evaluations.Identify areas of key need across emerging nanomedicine research and champion creative solutions to address those needs.Actively seek out external research and the expertise of scientific leaders across and beyond Lilly.Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.Company OverviewAt Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Basic QualificationsPhD in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.Optional: Background in computational sciencesAdditional InformationThis position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend to 3 years and for maximum of up to 4 years.
