This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of our scientific community!We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Level Biologist with a diversified background in in-vitro biology to join our discovery research team within the Biotherapeutic Enabling Biology in Biotechnology Discovery Research. We are searching for a candidate who can navigate the interface of chemistry and biology to explore novel biology and translate their understanding of biological systems into robust assays. The candidate will be responsible for the design and execution of cell-based and biochemical assays to discover and identify novel therapeutic proteins and antibodies with the desired attributes.The successful candidate will join a highly interactive, collaborative, and innovative scientific team to discover and advance large molecule therapeutics to combat diseases in the diabetes, pain, neurodegenerative and auto-immune areas.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in biochemistry, Immunology, neuroscience, molecular/cell biology, or related discipline.Prior research experience is required.Additional Skills/PreferencesMS degree is preferred.Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and experience with cell-based assaysExperience working in a pharmaceutical research laboratory is preferredAbility applying scientific and technical skills to differentiate therapeutic molecules.Experience in primary cell isolation and/or culture, processing and analysis of RNA/protein from animal tissues or flow cytometryBasic molecular biology, including, but not limited to ELISAs, Western blots, RNA purification, qPCR and gel electrophoresisExperience with generation of transient, stable and/or reporter cell line(s).Strong communication and presentation skillsCapable of independently planning and conducting experiments, generating data, interpreting results, and documenting the work.Self management, task planning and organization.Ability to work productively and to foster collaborations in an interdisciplinary team environment.Desire and ability to learn, adapt, and take on new challengesEli Lilly and Company, Lilly USA, LLC and our wholly owned subsidiaries (collectively “Lilly”) are committed to help individuals with disabilities to participate in the workforce and ensure equal opportunity to compete for jobs.
