We are looking for an Associate who will help to develop new processes and implement new automation and software technologies. This role will also play a key role in developing capabilities to meet the future needs of Discovery research. In addition, the Associate with work closely with sample consumers and the sample business team members working in a research laboratory setting to support processes to prepare samples using acoustic dispensing technology.Are you up for the challenge? Come and be a part of a meaningful and fulfilling mission!Some responsibilities in this role:Global planning and decision making for samples supporting portfolio delivery and strategy in collaboration with Discovery leader. Prioritize work to automated sample systems to enable sample preparation and ensure customer needs are met. Work with team members to develop new concepts and workflows to support the new business infrastructure being implemented.Develop deep technical knowledge of operational processes to support solubilized sample production, provide guidance to a contract work staff and for novel processes carry out work to develop new processes. Serve as a key resource to drive sample production and logistics processes using software systems to manage work product. Lead and resolve complexities related to delivery of work output.Accountable for assigning the appropriate route for materials from partners to ensure delivery to the appropriate assay.Developing, maintaining and enhancing systems and tools to support sample production, integrated preparation workflows and sample logistics in support of the Small Molecule portfolio. Refine business processes based on customer feedback.Influence development of software used with deep end user expertise.Testing and validating systems and tools associated with the centralized sample operation production, integrated sample preparation workflows and logistics of sample delivery.Use business and technical knowledge to educate and train coworkers in using these systems and tools for the integrated workflows of sample production.Expert for sample data to devise and influence projects and other ecosystem process optimization projects.Build, update and maintain job aids and where appropriate write globally oriented procedures.Anticipate, identify and resolve data and application issues. Investigate sample production issues by customers and work to understand and resolve the issues.Basic Requirements:BS in chemical, biological or engineering sciences or applicable fieldOne or more years industrial experience managing sample inventories, using sample systems, stewarding sample data, or participating in process design of a laboratory workflow.Additional Skills/Preferences:Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.Experience with laboratory automation equipment such as liquid handling equipment would also be very useful.Additional Information:Position involves working in an area with PHMs.Eli Lilly and Company, Lilly USA, LLC and our wholly owned subsidiaries (collectively “Lilly”) are committed to help individuals with disabilities to participate in the workforce and ensure equal opportunity to compete for jobs.
