The center has been designed to cultivate collaborative drug, device and technology research across all of Lilly’s therapeutic areas.Insulin management is complex and disruptive to a person living with diabetes. Despite all the advances in medical therapy over 100 years, market research shows that diabetes management today is not working well enough, resulting in poor outcomes and high costs. Specifically, 50% of people with diabetes have A1Cs above 7%, with the average person achieving only 50-60% blood glucose time-in-range. As of 2017, direct health care expenses totaled approximately $237 billion in the United States annually.To assist people with diabetes in simplifying diabetes management and in achieving better health outcomes, Lilly’s Diabetes Connected Care business is seeking to launch a data-driven, digital-first ecosystem of products and services.
 ResponsibilitiesAs Senior Director, Product Management for Connected Care, you will take part in shaping the strategy and product evolution of innovative, integrated software-hardware solutions that generate insights to improve patient care and treatment success. Through connected systems, you will help bring a voice and story to the patient’s journey. With your customer focus, technical expertise, Agile experience, and exemplary collaborative skills, you will work with teams across clinical, engineering, analytics, marketing, and commercial disciplines to deliver innovative solutions that balance timeline, budget, and customer needs. With your thirst for knowledge, creativity, and a deeply embedded desire to deliver solutions, you will turn ideas and visions into commercial products that change people’s lives.
Responsibilities of this role include:Act as the “voice of the market and customer” for our connected care portfolio, working closely with product and delivery execution teams to deliver product functionality that meets the needs of the business and customers. You will collaborate with business stakeholders on portfolio and product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities while serving as key leader on the Portfolio Team. As such, you will be providing clear direction and elaboration to the Agile development teams and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.Exercise your background in Epic creation, grooming and requirements management to ensure that the product team and engineering team always has an adequate amount of prepared tasks from iteration planning and execution.Expertise and deep knowledge in healthcare patient , provider and payer  data.Define multi year product roadmaps aligned to connected care business objectives and priorities.Mentor and guide product managers to ensure that product management is well defined and supported by well-defined processes, training, and collateral to maximize awareness, operational knowledge, and user adoption of the shipped (Launched) product.Work closely with marketing, design, engineering, medical, data analytics, digital health, and therapeutic area subject matter experts to assess relative value of needs, develop cases, and prioritize epics, features and user stories to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with market needs.Collaborate with data scientists and statisticians to make sense of large data sets and customer behaviors, utilizing elegant data visualization strategies to uncover new insights and communicate value to the business. Translate findings to actionable specifications and development direction for sensors, algorithms, and integrated open- and closed-loop systemsOversee the requirements gathering process as well as product release planning with all relevant Stakeholders and SME’sProvide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint GoalsKeep up to date with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends to help our portfolio, product and delivery teams continue to improve performance while delivering high-quality and high value solutions to customersBasic QualificationsMBA with previous biotech or medtech experience or M.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or related fieldProven business skills and understanding of the pharmaceutical and medical device industriesPrevious Healthcare and diabetes domain experience requiredPrevious working experience as a Product Manager (5+ years)Experience working in a regulated software development environmentProven track record of launching and monitoring products in marketKnowledge of FHIR and other healthcare standards.Experience with data analytics, specifically incorporating data into the decision-making and design processes.In-depth hands-on knowledge of Agile process and principles Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills with proven ability to build consensus and resolve conflictsExcellent organizational and time management skillsSharp analytical and problem-solving skillsAdditional Skills/PreferencesExperience in any of the following areas would be considered a “plus”:Previous experience with clinical software development and mobile technologies a plusDemonstrable experience developing and delivering approved FDA regulated software solutions.Experience working with Ethics & Compliance and Privacy organizationsExperience working in a clinical setting and experience with human factors engineering.Experience with large complex enterprise solutions with multiple user persona and competing needs (including Health care providers, Healthcare Organizations and/or Payer)Familiarity with IOT strategies, Cloud technologies, data analytics, and machine learning is a bonusExperience with Program Management execution tools (Atlassian, Portfolio, Jira, Confluence)Additional InformationLocation: Cambridge, MA or Indianapolis, IN.Travel is part of job, usually 10-15% but up to ~30% of time.
